Frank Hency is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer. Over time he became an intuitive and visionary musician for whom social, historical and technological subjects are the foundation and inspiration.
After he performed with many bands as a bass player, Frank has elevated himself in a high-tech phase with his idealistic sounds, rhythms and techniques. His unique sound combines stylistic features of electronica, alternative rock, dub and future garage as well as many other musical influences.

Jean-François Duguay AKA Frank Hency is a Canadian from a small city in the province of Quebec. His family introduced him to music at a very young age and at 14, he formed his first band. Thereafter, his older brother, an experienced musician, could not ignore is talent anymore and asked him to join his band. Even if he was still legally minor at the time, Frank animated the local nightlife by actively playing in clubs.
The uncertainty of the musician's life and the curiosity to understand the technologies led him to study electronics. Wishing to experience something new, he left the silence of the countryside for the city noise. Therefore he moved to Montreal and very soon he met musicians from the urban scene. It was a defining moment for him, he discovered electronic music and was soon attracted to Drum and Bass, Break Beat and 2-Step Garage. Intrigued by these musical genres, he began to dissect the beats and melodies. Thus, he elaborated his own distinct style. Obviously, he continued to play in various bands, recorded many albums and performed several concerts. Not yet satisfied with the originality of the music he played with these groups, he decided to work solo and learned every step of music production.
<FIRST LIFE>

Apart of his musical life, he worked in the food, cosmetic, chemical, pharmaceutical and nanotechnology industries. Amongst other activities he traveled around the world to install high-tech systems and experienced another reality until one day, bummed by all that, he decided to return to university to study audio and interactive media, which led him to work as an audio researcher in the film industry. On the pursue of wisdom and happiness, he then decided to travel to Africa and climb the high Atlas of Morocco. This achievement became a turning point in his life. Once back home, he left his job and devoted all his time to master his art: music production.
That is how Frank Hency found himself thrown into a delirium of creativity that led him to compose more than 26 original songs.
